* Note: The First book of harpsichord pieces of François Couperin appeared in 1713. Although Couperin is harpsichordist most prominent ending the reign of Louis XIV, it was only 45 years old he decided to publish his first book, following the example of late with many colleagues during the first decade of century seem indeed how close the books of Marchand, Dieupart, Le Roux, Clérambault, Dandrieu, Rameau, Jacquet de la Guerre and Siret.
François Couperin 10 November 1668 – 11 September 1733) was a French Baroque composer, organist and harpsichordist. He was known as Couperin le Grand ("Couperin the Great") to distinguish him from other members of the musically talented Couperin family.

Software Description:

RetroMagix is a Virtual Harpsichord based on the Flemish (Belgian Dutch) models, designed for creating a wide range of Harpsichord sounds, from classical to neoclassical styles.

- Early music enthusiasts can enjoy an authentic experience with all of the advantages of RetroMagix to recreate the classical harpsichord sounds. Also if you are looking for any instrument of harpsichord family like Virginal, Muselaar Virginal, Spinet or Clavicytherium sounds, RetroMagix can offer you an approach to those instruments that were popular between the 15th and 17th centuries.

Installation Notes

Windows Requirements:

- Use these Syntheway VST plugins in your favourite DAW MIDI Sequencer host like: FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cakewalk Sonar X3 Producer, Sonar Artist, Platinum and Professional, Steinberg Cubase, Nuendo, PreSounus Studio One, Cockos REAPER, Mixcraft, MAGIX Samplitude, Sequoia, Energy XT, ACID Pro, Orion, VSTHost, SAVIHost, n-Track Studio, Cantabile, Adobe Audition and many others ( Check out complete list of VST compatible hosts here: syntheway.com/vstcompatiblehost.htm )
- Place the dll file / files into VST Plugins Folder.
- 500 MHz Processor (Pentium, Celeron AMD or equivalent) minimum.
- RAM: 128 MB or higher recommended.
- Windows Operating System : Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 / x86 (32 bit).
- For Windows x64 (64 bit) test it first with VST Bridge, jBridge or BitBridge.

Classical Music with Software Synthesizers

Couperin's writing for the solo harpsichord is known in manuscript copies from the 1690s, though the first printed collection did not appear until 1713. He blamed its belated appearance on his all-consuming teaching commitments in Paris and at court. From 1717 Couperin replaced D'Anglebert whose failing eyesight had made him long unable properly to fulfil his duties as the king's harpsichordist.
The appearance of the First Book of Harpsichord Pieces was the first product of a twenty-year printing licence which was to cover his music publications, as it turned out, up to his death.
